The Blampied hills were alive with the sound of music

11 June 2015

Sixty students and eight staff took part in last month's annual Music Camp at Rutherford Park, Blampied. It was held on a lovely property with gorgeous views of the countryside and the resident Clydesdale horses.

Although the weather was cold and misty, inside it was warm and cosy and buzzing with the sounds of music. The Assumption music ensembles rehearsed in morning, afternoon and evening sessions to prepare for a fantastic concert for families and friends on the Saturday afternoon.

Not only did the students learn new music but they shared the joy of friendship and music making with their fellow musicians. Music captain Georgia Yendall ran a fantastic trivia night on the Friday night culminating in a hilarious fashion parade featuring the best costume of a performing artist using only paper, foil and masking tape. There were many inventive costumes created. Well done Georgia.

The music ensembles are now rehearsing with renewed vigour for the many performances to come this year.
