ACK sport

1 December 2016

AGSV/APS sport has come to close for 2016 and we have seen some outstanding performances from our teams across the full spectrum of sports. Recent highlights include our girls’ softball teams that remain undefeated, our Firsts boys tennis team's recent victory over Trinity and the First boys basketball team’s win over PEGS. There have also been some excellent performances throughout our year level teams which bodes exciting times in the near future throughout ACK’s sports program.

Congratulations to year 12 student, Mitch Lewis (right) who has continued the college’s proud tradition in being drafted by  Hawthorn with pick 76 during last Friday night’s AFL draft. We wish him a long and prosperous career!

We wish our First XI cricket side all the best as they set off next week to Lismore to compete in the 2016 Marist Cricket Carnival.

And congratulations to year 9 student Mardie Hamilton (below) who has been selected to represent Vic Country Under 15s at the forthcoming National Cricket Championships in Canberra from January 18-24. Mardie’s selection is reward for her excellent form with her club side (Essendon Maribyrnong Park) and at the recent Cricket Victoria trials.

As I write, Frayne has yet again (for the fourth time) won the Interhouse Swimming Carnival. The weather was perfect for competition in Seymour today.

Finally, I wish you a safe and happy Christmas and look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
