During term 4 we want to conduct mock job interviews for our year 10s. To do this we require the support of our extended community. Interviews will be held on October 18, October 25 and November 8 between 2 and 4pm on each day.
We have about 200 year 10 students so need at least 25 people prepared to offer them advice about their resumes, application letters and interview techniques. If you could help out on any of these days I would love to hear from you.
At the time of writing fewer than 70 Year 12 students had completed their online tertiary course applications. While applying for a course is not compulsory, any student who wants a written copy of their ATAR in December or is thinking about going to university or TAFE next year should complete an online application by Thursday, September 29. If students change their minds and decide to complete an application after this date, the late fee is hefty.
SEAS applications are also completed online and need to be finalised by October 4. All ssumption students should at least apply for Category 1 which is for those at a rural school. This is done by ticking a box online and is based on postcodes.
If anyone is considering La Trobe as a top preference for 2017 they might like to apply for the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship.
As a partnership school with the university, one or two students will receive a scholarship to the value of $6000 p.a for the length of their undergraduate degree.
Students were recently emailed an application form and must return the completed form to me by October 7.
