With the winter season ending, the AGSV representative matches were played on August 6. Year 12 students Chloe Molloy and Sophie Atherden represented the association in their sports against the APS. Chloe was vice-captain of the basketball team which was victorious. Sophie Atherden was vice-captain for the AGSV soccer team, which was competitive, only losing 0-2. Sister, Elana was named in the hockey team which won. It's a great achievement to be selected in these sides and we congratulate the girls on this achievement.
Last Saturday, for the first time ever, our girls footballers took to the field and played Ivanhoe. At both junior and senior levels our two teams were defeated, but the girls enjoyed learning new skills and playing a sport not previously available to them. The senior and junior girls teams will be competing in a gala event this Saturday against other APS/AGSV in this growing girls sport.

The AGSV v APS representative carnival was held last Saturday at Marcellin College. Assumption had representatives in the basketball (Keenan Gorski), which the AGSV side won, and football (Mitch Lewis, Aidan Tilley and Joel Naylor) won by the APS side. Not only is it a fantastic effort to be selected in the team to begin with, all our students performed superbly and should be proud of themselves.
The athletics season is upon us with training every Tuesday after school in Epping. There are still a couple more Saturday trials, plus the final championships at Lakeside Stadium on September 7. If you would like to be involved in the team, please contact Mrs Rose or me.
