Our equestrians did well at Woodend

3 August 2017

It’s been a busy start to the term with the Braemar College Dressage event held at the Woodend Pony Club Hayley and Rubygrounds on Sunday, July 23. Four of our equestrian team members competed in the regional event.

I rode Wyann Mercedes (click on photo below) in the preliminary senior and achieved a score of 61% which secured 3rd place in the first test. My score in the second test was 64% achieving Reserve Champion in the division. In the Preliminary Intermediate, Aisha Robertson rode Queen of Diamonds, placing 15th and 15th overall in the jackpot.

Sinead Dalben also competed in the Preliminary Intermediate, riding Imposing Rob, placing 10th then 5th respectively and achieving 7th overall. Sinead performed a personal best in her second test, achieving a percentage of 68.91% - well done Sinead!

In the elementary, Haylea Wright rode Stanmore Park Ruby (pictured), placing 4th, 1st and Reserve Champion in her section.

It was a great effort by our riders and a rewarding day as the Assumption College team came 2nd in the school scores - a fantastic effort!

The team is looking forward to the Victorian Equestrian Interschool Series Grand Final in dressage and showjumping on August 5 and 6. Best of luck to the competitors.
