During the Assumption Day fete on August 15 McAuley ran three hugely successful stalls for burgers, drinks, a dunking machine as well as a hula hoop challenge.

The dunking machine, which was organised by the SRCs of McAuley, was open to all students and teachers to either participate or have a shot at hitting the target. Mr Langdon, Brad and Ms Wallace as well as Bailey Taylor, Jack Maher and Darcy Panayiotis were some of those that volunteered to be dunked to raise money for our sister school in East Timor. Thanks to the students and teachers involved in this fun activity.

Our burger stall was a big hit, with most burgers sold in an hour, as was the hula hoop challenge. We all had a great day, and Mr Caruso, James and I are proud of the effort by McAuley students before and throughout the day.

Also this term, a basketball tournament between year 7s and year 12s has been played in the Gonzales Centre at lunchtime. Competition is between learning mentor groups of different houses. This basketball tournament was exciting and fun to participate in and brought out house spirit from players and those who cheered them on. It was great to see so many people wanting to get involved and we hope to have more sporting and cultural house activities throughout the year.
