Join our P & F for a fun time and to contribute to college life

9 March 2017

ACK High tea invite

After a productive meeting on March 1, our small but dedicated team have a plan for P & F activities for the rest of the year. Several people have asked whether there'll  be a fete this year and the answer is no. There are several reasons for this but, in short, it is no longer financially viable. That is not to say there will never be a fete again, but certainly not in the immediate future. If you volunteered your services via TryBooking for a fete there will be plenty of other things to do!

While we did no fundraising last year, we still contributed significantly to the college community. We financed the landscaping of the Fourvière courtyard ($50,000), bought eight outdoor settings as requested by the student leaders ($18,000), contributed to grounds maintenance with six working bees, and   catered for the Open Evening, the Old Collegians Reunion Day and two equestrian events. We provided person-power for the set up and wind up of the Interhouse athletics and swimming carnivals. We also had our trusty coffee van out for winter sport on Saturday mornings with proceeds going to the College mission programs.

Our fundraising target for 2017 is $10,000 aimed at contributing to the cost of changerooms, toilets, seating, and a canteen etc) for the new netball and tennis courts.

So what now? Below I have detailed what we will be doing for the rest of the year as regards fundraising, participation in college events and social endeavours. This list is not exhaustive as other things may crop up. Keep your eye on the Facebook page, the newsletter and emails.

I haven’t included any working bees or the dates of P & F meetings as these are on the calendar sent to each family at the start of the year. If, for whatever reason, you didn't receive yours or would like another one, spares are available at reception.

I hope this information helps you plan your involvement with the College for the coming year. If you have any queries, ideas or suggestions join us at a P&F meeting (we would love to have some more members on the committee) or drop me an email at

There is still time to register your commitment on the Parents & Friends link :
