27 April 2017
In our first event of the year, Chloe Cornfoot and Madeleine Manton represented ACK at the Beaconhills College ISJ on Friday, February 17. Although there were no placings, Chloe and Madeleine were happy with how they and their horses performed.
Next, Geelong College held their annual show jumping competition on February 24 where three Assumption riders competed: Chloe Cornfoot and two year-seven students, Allison Noble (right) and Kristy Egan. They were riding under the Assumption banner for the first time. Riding in three different levels, the girls were super happy with their results despite any rails or refusals, with Kristy managing to pull off eighth in her section.
At the Geelong Grammar Dressage Day on February 26, Assumption had five riders. Lili Taylor, from Bolinda Primary School, rode under the ACK banner to place reserve champion overall in the Preparatory class. In the Preliminary, Madeleine Manton placed 10th overall in a large class. Isabella Robertson-Dixon and I competed in the Elementary, where I placed first overall and Isabella placed fourth overall. In the Advanced class, Brooke Pearce came third overall. After a long day for most, it was worth it as Assumption placed second out of 45 schools across Victoria.
We had one rider, Kristy Egan, compete in the Kardinia College Interschool Show Jumping event on Saturday, March 18. Kristy competed in the Secondary Freshman class and was happy with how Milo performed despite knocking a couple of rails.
And at the Hillcrest Christian College ISD on March 4, Isabella Robertson-Dixon was our only rider and she placed second overall in the Elementary class.
Congratulations to our team for a great start to 2017. Bring on the rest of the year.
