Brothers in arms make history at Prahran Assumption

11 May 2017

History was made On Saturday, May 6 when three sets of brothers, all former ACK students, played in the winning Prahran Assumption team v Emmaus St Leo’s.

Pictured left to right (below) are: Josh Hogarth, 32, and Ged Hogarth, 30; Tom Freeman, 23, and Dan Freeman, 27 and Will Brereton, 21, and James Brereton, 20, all played in the seniors together for the first time.

The Hogarths have proved livewires up forward with their high marking complemented by ground-level skills, Tom Freeman has been a revelation as a half-back flanker with Dan an effective rover-forward while the Brereton brothers showed plenty of promise in their first senior games for the club.

Appropriately the former ACK players wore the old school colours as the club's away strip.

Former ACK star Eric Kuret is also in the team and fast justifying the lofty reputation he has earned over an illustrious career.

After five rounds in VAFA Division 2 the Two Blues seniors are second on the ladder and the unbeaten Reserves are on top.
