Celebrating Champagnat Day

13 June 2019

The Assumption College community celebrated the Feast Day of Saint Marcellin Champagnat on Thursday, 6 June with a full school Liturgy.

The highlight of the Liturgy is always the student performance and this year this told the story of Saint Marcellin’s  through a dramatic presentation of the show ‘Shark Tank’, where each House presented a scene from a proposed movie  about the life of Champagnat to the ‘Sharks’ – Marcellin, Mary and Jesus.

In addition, various staff and students were invited to share with the community what the  2019 Marist theme ‘Wholly Holy’ means to them. Many spoke of gratitude and recognising the small an often overlooked ways that God presents himself in our everyday lives.

Finally, significant employment milestones were recognised by Marist Schools Australia to the following members of our Assumption family, with special presentations made by Brother Greg McDonald.

Nicki Doyle – 10 years
Tonya Frost – 10 years
Des Langdon – 10 years

Brett Miles – 10 years
Caitlin Roks – 10 years
Jacqui Wilson – 10 years
