Year 8A and 8B food technology students were recently set the challenge of making food related to their LOTE subject, either French or Italian. They had to follow a procedure to investigate, design, produce and evaluate all that is required in technology subjects.
They chose a region in their LOTE country, investigated its food and found out whether any famous dishes came from there.
After the investigation, students cooked a dish that they thought suited that region. They had to come up with equipment lists, produce lists and workflows. Using only those resources, they made the dish and evaluated it for its taste, smell and look. Finally, they suggested how it could be improved.
