VCAL students host the Biggest Morning Tea

16 July 2015

Year 11 VCAL personal development skills students held the Biggest Morning Tea for staff just before the holidays.

The event required a lot of planning. Once the menu was agreed upon the cooking began, the items were plated and the staffroom decorated and furniture moved.

Sponsors were sought for the raffle, goods were collected and hampers made. Thank you to the businesses that sponsored the raffle: Sportsco, Epping; Wallan Driving School; Beaurepaires, A Cut Above, Foodworks, Sass, Wolf Clothing, Mitre 10, Coles, Cheap Bargains Online, Ferguson Plarre and Trackside, Kilmore. The hampers were popular as over 1000 tickets were sold.

The morning tea raised more than $1300 and those of us who organised it are proud. All funds will go to Cancer Council Victoria to support cancer research and hopefully eradicate this disease.

We learnt a great deal as event organisers and enjoyed seeing staff tucking into our Biggest Morning Tea.
