The College motto Quae Supra Quaere – ‘Seek the things above’ has inspired a tailored learning program for students at Assumption College.

Our Vision for Learning

The Marist Founder, Saint Marcellin Champagnat, responded to the needs of his times.

Inspired by his example, we dedicate ourselves to building an aspirational and responsive school that ignites a love of learning and
celebrates personal excellence in all its forms. We plan and act so that upon leaving Assumption, our students:

  • are creative and curious people who embrace lifelong learning

  • are confident problem-solvers, able to work collaboratively and independently

  • seek and use feedback effectively for and consistently strive for ambitious goals

  • are persistent, discerning risk-takers, who understand that challenge, and sometimes failure,
    are important elements of learning

  • value self-improvement and develop resilience, empathy, compassion and integrity

  • contribute to a culture of high expectations

myMAP year 1: Quaere Year 7 students begin their myMAP journey in Semester One immersed in our unique Quaere program. This program focuses on belonging, becoming, identity, relationships and engagement. The program provides opportunities for students to engage with learning domains across all areas of the Victorian Curriculum to provide our students and parents with a diverse learning experience to better understand and explore their goals and capacity for future learning.
