Welcome to the Assumption College Boarding community. Our boarding houses are home to 70 boarders from all over Australia. We are proud of our modern facilities that were built to create large family style homes. We are so proud of the community of young people that live here, and we work together to help them achieve their goals. Boarders have a unique experience where they learn independence, develop resilience, and build lifetime friends. We have a dedicated and experienced team of staff who provide care and support to the boarders. In this handbook you will find all the information you need about boarding at Assumption College and we look forward to supporting families who embark on this journey with us and form part of a 131 year tradition.
Boarding Staff
Our staff are acting in loco parentis when the boarders are not with their parents. Boarding staff endeavour to challenge the boarders to meet the expectations of a changing world.
The College Executive andLeadership Teams
Led by the Principal, Paul Finneran, all the Executive and Leaders of our College give the highest priority to our boarders and their families. The leaders of the College are intimately involved in the management and operation of our boarding community.
Health Centre
Our dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) care for the health of the boarders and are in constant contact with the Boarding Supervisors. The nurses are supported by a local medical practice and visiting General Practitioner (GP).
St Patrick’s Parish Kilmore
Our community receives extraordinary support from the parish priest and the staff of our local parish. We attend Mass every Saturday evening at St Patrick’s or Friday morning if we are not in-house Saturday night.
Kitchen
Our wonderful team of chefs, cooks and kitchen hands work closely with boarding staff and our boarding leaders to provide a nutritional, interesting and varied menu for our community.
Maintenance and Grounds
The boarders at the College live in a stunning environment. The buildings and resources of the boarding houses are cared for by our dedicated maintenance staff.
