WORKING FARM

working farm

As an institution that has been integral to the surrounding area of Kilmore for over 130 years, Assumption College has deep rural roots.

Our working farm is a natural result of this, providing students with a platform for comprehensive study of farming practices – plants, animals, practical skills and more.

The Agricultural program spans across all levels of the MyMAP and VCE curriculum and celebrates local plant and animal production sectors. Students take part in a range of experiences, from learning about sustainable chicken production by raising chicks to designing new agricultural technologies for modern agriculture, visiting local beef and pork farms utilising regenerative agriculture practices, growing their own fresh produce in the Drusilla gardens and immerse themselves in our on-site sheep farm.
